EPISODE CLXXIX - JOHNNY GUANO'S PERSISTENT NASAL DISCHARGE
The corpsmen had removed Lt. Schrader's frozen form from his ship and gingerly placed him in the cryogenic stasis unit, while Dr. Egan stood to the side smelling a yellow tinged, disposable
glove he'd produced from somewhere.
"That's it, sir", one of the corpsmen related to the doctor. "The patient is stable and we should be able to begin thawing him out soon."
Egan seemed oblivious as he tentatively touched his tongue to the glove.
"Uh, Doctor", Ghostrider said, coming to stand beside him, "where would you like these men to take him?"
"What?", the startled physician said, looking up from his...experiment, "uh, yes Mr. Jennings. I think that that is exactly what we should do."
"We should do what, sir?"
"Uh, what you said", Egan replied, "that's what we'll do."
Ghostrider was tempted to pay his last respects to Schrader then and there, but instead turned to the confused corpsmen. "You heard him, boys, take the lieutenant to sickbay, and", he added quietly,
"brief Nurse Yahbo on his condition."
"Aye-aye, sir", they responded as one, pushing the refrigeration unit toward the waiting elevator.
Ghostrider looked at Egan who was once again distracted by the soiled, rubber hand garment, with Triple J looking over his shoulder.
"Come on, bro", he said, "let's go get some rack time."
"That's okay", Triple J replied, "for some reason I'm not tired. And anyway", he continued, "I get the glove next."
