Spam Squadron blasted out of the launching bays at NS-ATS* and split into two separate flights, each led by its own Jennings Brother. Within seconds both
units were well on their way to their respective rendezvous points. Triple-J led his flight of T-38, Snout-Class fighters to the starboard, dropping below
Ghostrider's sixteen Snog Hyper Grav-2's as they cruised
to the port.
Jeff thumbed his mike. "USS Escort, this is Ghostrider requesting a fly by."
"This is Escort, Ghostrider", Schultz's disturbingly cool voice replied, "perhaps you should accomplish your mission first."
"Detail, details.", the pilot murmured, as he leaned forward and spat a wad of Dr. Horkles Fizzless Tobacco onto the floor of his fighter. He wondered briefly if thirty four ships would be enough,
and decided that it probably wasn't. To his knowledge, no Space Fleet Star Cruiser had ever defeated a Wyzenhymer Flagship. He cast his doubts aside as the proximity tones sounded in his headset, announcing
the arrival of the Wyzenhymer fighters.
Triple J was trying to think about the battle, but kept getting distracted by a severe headache. It seemed as though his helmet was fitting much tighter since the victory over the hover tanks on New Boise.
Even the three sticks of his favorite Crudnuts chewing gum did little to ease the pain.
"Plan Uncle-Zulu", he muttered as he tried to recall the flight plan. His concentration defeated, he shrugged his shoulders and stated, "Hey diddle diddle, straight up the middle." He
pushed the stick forward, increasing his already dangerous speed, and flew straight into battle, confident that his superior battle skills, and the ancient SKS under his seat, should prevail.
Plan Uncle-Zulu called for Ghostrider to evade and draw out the Wyzenhymer forces, allowing Triple J to attack the flagship virtually unchallenged. Unfortunately, Triple J's inability to recall this bit of
information had caused him to implement Plan Charlie-Foxtrot, in its stead. Although no such plan officially exists, it was the fighter jocks' equivalent of the infantry's Operation FUBAR, and generally involved
excessive casualties and a great deal of confusion.
