EPISODE LVI - MAMA'S LITTLE BABY LOVES SHORTNIN', SHORTNIN'

Schrader checked his readout.  With the "Fee" portion of his operation completed, they were now ready to initiate "Fie".  He keyed his mike.

"Good luck, boys.", he said lightly, "I'll see ya' at the rendezvous point."

"Roj, Houndog", King-1 replied, "stick it to em'."

With that, Schrader eased back on the stick, dropping his speed, resigning himself to a few turbulent minutes of skating the thin, dangerous line separating light speed and NS.  The other ships accelerated, rocketing forward out of view.  King-1 checked his readings to ensure 2 and 4 were still with him.

"This is one.", he said looking over his instrumentation, "NS speed on my mark."

"This is King-2, 10-4."

"Roj, King-1", four responded, "I copy."

One began the countdown.  "Three...two...one...GO!"

They pulled back as one, making the violent transition back to NS speed, and came out on near the Wyzenhymer Flagship, on the opposite side of the primary fighter conflict.  That there would be ships stationed on this side, there was no doubt, but they had the advantage of surprise.

The three fighters separated, driving for their individual goals.  King-1 eyed the radar towers on the starboard side of the vessel and gunned his engines.  He sent a volley of long range, Bulls-eye, reverse trajectory photons at his target, then dove beneath the oncoming fighter resistance.

King-two was immediately engaged by several Wyzenhymer Freenblat fighters and went down without completing his assignment.  King-4's target was the main bridge.  He ducked unobserved under the fighter coverage, and let loose with his plasma cannon, reeking havoc on the hulking behemoth.

The protective fighters, too late, realizing that they were under attack pursued the Space Fleet ship away from the Flagship and into a waiting mass of Snog-class fighters.   The Wyzenhymer ship sat smoldering in the abyss, blind and deaf, the bridge in chaos, smoke spilling forth into space from several different areas.
