Mr. Jeffy, diligently studying the most recent set of readouts from the Oragami Drive, felt a dark disappointment as he listened to Schultz's P.A. announcement. He should be down
there, he thought. He should be the one standing at Reed's side, analyzing data, giving advice, making light hearted quips to ease the tension of his comrades. He was Lucky-7.
"I am Lucky-7", Jeffy muttered aloud, feeling pride swell within his chest. After all, hadn't he saved Stauch's life in Episode XIV by throwing him on his head when the Wyzenhymer com-bot had gone
berserk? He had! And hadn't it been he that saved the ship when he
ousted the shape shifting saboteur that had been impersonating the Commander? It had been, though admittedly he had menaced the real
Reed in the tense moments following, but that just proved his true level of dedication. He was a man of actions, and a man of action didn't wait for Fate to deal him a hand. A man of action pointed
behind Fate and took his own cards when Fate turned to look, then simply shrugged and said, "I thought I saw something", when Fate turned back confused. Jeffy smiled. "Hibbard!", he barked
authoritatively.
"Uh...yes, Mr. Jeffy", the ensign stammered, somewhat surprised by his supervisor's severe tone.
"Take over here", Jeffy ordered, moving toward the door that would take him out of engineering and propel him toward his destiny. "There's something I have to do."
