EPISODE XCIX - "THAT WAS MY HEAD, MAN.  I'M SO WASTED."
J. SPICOLLI

"Reed to escort."

Schultz, who had been idly passing the time with a strategic, training simulation called Gallaga, reached over slowly and keyed the communications panel.  "Escort here, Commander."

"Mr. Schultz", Reed began, "we seem to have gotten in a little bit over our head here."

"How so, sir?"

Reed hated having to explain their embarrassing predicament to Schultz, knowing the Huckster science officer would store it away for a rainy day, yet the situation was potentially dire.

"We've awakened the ire of a local land baron with a hundred man army.", he stated matter-of-factly.

"So, you are in need of assistance?", Schultz prompted.

Reed was certain he heard a touch of amusement in his remark.  "Yes, Mr. Schultz.", he admitted, "we require additional personnel and I would like you to send the Jennings brothers out in the event that we need air support."

"Aye-aye, sir.", Schultz replied, "how many additional ground forces will you need?"

"Not much", Reed said confidently, "just send the rest of Stauch's unit.  Outfit them appropriately", he added, not wanting to spook the locals with and high-tech gadgetry.

There was a pause on Schultz's end.  "That only gives you twenty-three troops, sir.", he said skeptically, "against one hundred."

"We'll have some help.", Reed assured the science officer.  "It's about time these people started dealing with their problems."

"Understood , sir.", Schultz confirmed.  "Your support is on the way."

The science officer severed the communications and keyed the public address.  "Strike force Alpha-Alpha", he announced, "report to docking bay 4."  He repeated his announcement, then had Anda, the pseudo-robotic assistant communications officer locate a pilot for the team.
